Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Rome

The Short Version

I'm Chiara Rossi, based in Rome, and for the past several years I've chronicled my visits to fitness clubs across Italy.

This site came about after I grew tired of selecting gyms from ads and fuzzy suggestions, only to find the reality didn't match. I wanted clear, candid details about what these places are really like. When I couldn't find them, I chose to build them myself.

How This Started

My fitness routine began at a modest gym near Via del Corso 21 in Rome. It wasn't flawless, yet it was reachable, budget-friendly, and it helped me stay steady.

When that place shut down, I saw how fast the fitness landscape in Italy was changing. New gyms emerged, new ideas appeared, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting down notes after each visit. Those notes gradually formed this site, created to help others make more informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here is based on actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I emphasize practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Take enough time to grasp routines, busy periods, and trends
  • Go on a variety of days and times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and trainers
  • Use the facilities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with fellow members about what stays consistent and what doesn't
  • Take notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when major changes occur—renovations, management shifts, price changes, or new facilities. Each piece shows its most recent update date so you can gauge currency.

What I Look For

What matters to me might differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully set up for members, with appropriate boundaries and a tranquil vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well maintained? Is there adequate variety? Are repairs timely?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train at your preferred times without persistent queues?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Transparent pricing, straightforward rules, and no hidden surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Beyond training and writing, I reside and work in Rome. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make the right environment more transparent for readers.
